CJC-1295 is a Long acting GHRH analog. Growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), also known as growth-hormone-releasing factor (GRF or GHRF) or somatocrinin, is a 44-amino acid peptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus by the arcuate nucleus.

These cycles, or pulses are meant to closely mimic natural secretion of GH. For CJC 1295, dosing is less frequent since the half-life with DAC is up to 8 days. Therefore, the cycle for CJC 1295 with DAC calls for once weekly injections that result in an overall increase of secretion of GH.
